What is a journey?
A journey is not a trip.
It's not a vacation.
Its a process. A discovery.
A process of Self discovery.
A journey brings us face to face with ourselves.
A journey shows us not only the world, but how we fit in it.
Does the person create the journey, or does the journey create the person?
The journey is life itself.

1 of a 101 things you should do before going to heaven...

Pursue a Dream...
All of us have a few dreams we'd like to see become a reality before we go to heaven. These dreams could have begun in childhood, dreams such as becoming a doctor or a parent. They could also be dreams we've picked up along the road to life as we've grown. Dreams to run a marathon, sit on a front porch of a small country house painting the landscape, or drifting down the Thames...whatever our most cherished dreams may be, they reveal a bit of what our hearts are like, a bit of who God created in us.
Wanting to pursue these dreams isn't selfish. I'ts a natural God inspired desire. However, how you choose to pursue these dreams will depend on what other realities God has woven into your life through the years. Dreams are often reshaped as we grow older.
Dreams don't usually come true all at once. they become a reality step-by-step, not a wave of a magic wand but with true planning, effort and committment. If you think that riding motocross is a God-given desire, one that stirs something deep in your soul, do something about it. In your spare time ride and practice. Watch videos of your mentors in motocross. Research what it would take to fulfill your dream and do it step by step. Plan....Work hard...ask for help and just do it ! Your dream-come-true will help you better understand the nature of your heart, as well as God's heart toward you, in a new and wonderful way.
This is for you Chris-Chris...
Pursue your dream..I'll be watching and cheering you on!

Daily Buddist Wisdom
If there were any object, any doctrine, that could be given to you to hold on to or understand, it would reduce you to bewilderment and externalism. It’s just a spiritual openness, with nothing that can be grasped; it is pure everywhere, its light clearly penetrating, outwardly and inwardly luminous through and through.

The Gift of Life

Life is short....how true of a statement..and what you make of your short life can live forever whether you know it or not...
Today my children my two oldest are burying a very good friend. David was a really kind, funny, reckless, amazing person and passed away as a result of an ATV accident a little over a week ago. And you wonder why? He was only 21 years young. He had so much to do still in life, and he always talked about that. He lived on the edge, it's where he wanted to be..push the envelope...be extreme. My kids are so sad, and it makes me so sad too...
When you look at a life that was ended so soon and without any notice, it just seems so unfair. You ask yourself why, and there is no answer. In reading about Miracles in The Course in Miracles it states that: MIRACLES are teaching devices for demonstrating it is as blessed to give as to receive. They simultaneously increase the strength of the giver and supply strength to the receiver. A MIRACLE is never lost. It may touch many people you have not even met, and produce undreamed of changes in situations which you are not even aware...
David is a MIRACLE. Why? His life ended, and in doing so...he gave the gift of life to five other souls in this world and because of his belief in donating his organs, he has produced undreamed of changes in the life of five people, and their families...

February 29th...only every 4 years

Just a quick fact...why do we have February 29 only every four years? Although the modern calendar counts a year as 365 days, a complete revolution around the sun takes approximately 365 days and 6 hours. Every four years, an extra twenty-four hours have accumulated, so one extra day is added to that calendar to keep the count coordinated with the sun's apparent position.
A century year, which ends in two zeros, is not a leap year unless it is also evenly divisible by 400. This means that 1600 and 2000 were leap years, and 2400 and 2800 will also be, 1800 and 1900 were not, and the years 2100 and 2200 will not be leap years. To correct a slight inaccuracy that remains (it isn't exactly six hours extra), it has been proposed that years evenly divisible by 4,000 should not be leap years; but this rule has not been officially adopted.
A leap day is more likely to fall on a Monday than on a Sunday. This is because the Gregorian calendar repeats itself every 400 years, which is exactly 20871 weeks including 97 leap days. Over this period February 29 falls thirteen times on a Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday; fourteen times on a Friday or Saturday; and fifteen times on a Monday or Wednesday.
The concepts of the leap year and leap day are distinct from the leap second, which results from changes in the Earth's rotational speed.

A week at the Gym.....

I thought that I would put some light harded fun on my blog today...something that was emailed to me from my bff Lori! We don't know the author....but we can identify with her....
A WOMAN'S WEEK AT THE GYM
If you read this without laughing out loud, there is something wrong with you. This is dedicated to everyone who ever attempted to get into a regular workout routine.
Dear Diary,
For my birthday this year, my daughter (the dear) purchased a week of personal training at the local health club for me.
Although I am still in great shape since being a high school football cheerleader 43 years ago, I decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and give it a try.
I called the club and made my reservations with a personal trainer named Belinda, who identified herself as a 26-year-old aerobics instructor and model for athletic clothing and swim wear.
My daughter seemed pleased with my enthusiasm to get started! The club encouraged me to keep a diary to chart my progress.
MONDAY:
Started my day at 6:00 a.m. Tough to get out of bed, but found it was well worth it when I arrived at the health club to find Belinda waiting for me. She is something of a Greek goddess -- with blonde hair, dancing eyes and a dazzling white smile. Woo Hoo!! Belinda gave me a tour and showed me the machines. I enjoyed watching the skillful way in which she conducted her aerobics class after my workout today. Very inspiring! Belinda was encouraging as I did my sit-ups, although my gut was already aching from holding it in the whole time she was around. This is going to be a FANTASTIC week!
TUESDAY:
I drank a whole pot of coffee, but I finally made it out the door.
Belinda made me lie on my back and push a heavy iron bar into the air then she put weights on it! My legs were a little wobbly on the treadmill, but I made the full mile. Belinda's rewarding smile made it all worthwhile. I feel GREAT! It's a whole new life for me.
WEDNESDAY:
The only way I can brush my teeth is by laying the toothbrush on the counter and moving my mouth back and forth over it. I believe I have a hernia in both pectorals. Driving was OK as long as I didn't try to steer or stop. I parked on top of a GEO in the club parking lot.
Belinda was impatient with me, insisting that my screams bothered other club members. Her voice is a little too perky for early in the morning and when she scolds, she gets this nasally whine that is VERY annoying. My chest hurt when I got on the treadmill, so Belinda put me on the stair monster. Why the Hell would anyone invent a machine to simulate an activity rendered obsolete by elevators? Belinda told me it would help me get in shape and enjoy life. She said some other stuff too.
THURSDAY:
Belinda was waiting for me with her vampire-like teeth exposed as her thin, cruel lips were pulled back in a full snarl. I couldn't help being a half an hour late; it took me that long to tie my shoes.
Belinda took me to work out with dumbbells. When she was not looking, I ran and hid in the restroom. She sent another skinny, perky girl to find me
Then, as punishment, she put me on the rowing machine -- which I sank.
FRIDAY:
I do not like that girl Belinda any more. Skinny, anemic, anorexic little cheerleader. If there was a part of my body I could move without unbearable pain, I would beat her with it.
Belinda wanted me to work on my triceps. I don't have any triceps! And if you don't want dents in the floor, don't hand me the damned barbells or anything that weighs more than a sandwich. The treadmill flung me off and I landed on a health and nutrition teacher.
Why couldn't it have been someone softer, like the drama coach or the choir director?
SATURDAY:
Belinda left a message on my answering machine in her grating, shrilly voice wondering why I did not show up today. Just hearing her made me want to smash the machine with my planner. However, I lacked the strength to even use the TV remote and ended up catching eleven straight hours of the Weather Channel.
SUNDAY:
I'm having the Church van pick me up for services today so I can go and thank GOD that this week is over. I will also pray that next year my daughter (the little brat) will choose a gift for me that is fun -- like a root canal or a hysterectomy.
I still say if God had wanted me to bend over, he would have sprinkled the floor with diamonds!!!
I think that....is funny....

Miracles........

A Miracle derived from the old Latin word miraculum meaning "something wonderful", is a striking interposition of divine intervention by a supernatural being in the universe by which the ordinary course and operation of Nature is overruled, suspended, or modified.
What an amazing thing miracles..."they are both beginnings and endings, and so they alter the temporal order. They are always affirmations of rebirth which seem to go back but really go forward...They undo the past in the present, and thus release the future....Miracles transcend the body. They are sudden shifts into invisibility, away from the bodily level...Miracles reawaken the awareness that the spirit, not the body is the altar of truth....Miracles should inspire gratitude, not awe. You should thank God for what you really are. The children of God are holy and the miracle honors their holiness, which can be hidden but never lost"...
"Miracles are examples of right thinking, aligning your perceptions with truth as God created it"....
My favorite:
"A Miracle is never lost. It may touch many people you have not even met, and produce undreamed of changes in situations which you are not even aware"....
Pondering on the phrase above "the spirit not the body is the alter of truth" it helps me to understand that we are all mind, body, and spirit...but what is everlasting and true is spirit. The mind and body come to an end, but the spirit lives on...and is the truth..So when you choose to know someone...know their spirit...not just the body or the mind...touch their soul and know the truth....
think of all the miracles in your life....
The Miracles text quoted above is from A Course in Miracles....

Taking delight in friends.....
Two people can accomplish more than twice as much as one; they get a better return for their labor.
If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But people who are alone when they fall are in real trouble.
A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken...
----Ecclesiastes 4:9 10, 12

Never leave that till tomorrow, he said, which you can do today...

A couple of hundred years ago, Benjamin Franklin shared with the world the secret of his success. Never leave that till tomorrow, he said, which you can do today. This is the man who discovered electricity. You think more people would listen to what he had to say.
I don't know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I'd have to say it has a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, sometimes the fear is just of making a decision, because what if you're wrong? What if you're making a mistake you can't undo? The early bird catches the worm. A stitch in time saves nine. He who hesitates is lost. We can't pretend we hadn't been told. We've all heard the proverbs, heard the philosophers, heard our grandparents warning us about wasted time, heard the damn poets urging us to seize the day.
Still sometimes we have to see for ourselves. We have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today's possibility under tomorrow's rug until we can't anymore. Until we finally understand for ourselves what Benjamin Franklin really meant. That knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, beat the hell out of never trying.
***Faith***
Faith...I love the word...i wear it on my finger engraved in a ring, my daughter loves the word as well and has of the word elegantly placed on her person as do I...
At the end of the day faith is a funny thing. It turns up when you don't really expect it. It's like one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. And its not so important...happy ever after, just that its happy right now. See once in a while, once in a blue moon, people will surprise you , and once in a while people may even take your breath away.
"faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see" (Hebrews 11:1, New International Version).
Power

"Power"
Its the type of thing most people don't think about until its taken away...whether it is the political power of the many...or a lovers influence of just one, we all want some sort of power in our lives...if only to give ourselves choices. Yes...choices, to be without choices to feel utterly powerless...well it's a lot like being alone in the dark.

Help me understand something?

What is integrity?
Integrity is the basing of one's actions on an internally consistent framework of principles. Depth of principles and adherence of each level to the next are key determining factors. One is said to have integrity to the extent that everything he does and believes is based on the same core set of values. While those values may change, it is their consistency with each other and with the person's actions that determine his integrity.
The concept of integrity is directly linked to responsibility in that implementation spawning from principles is designed with a specific outcome in mind. When the action fails to achieve the desired effect, a change of principles is indicated. Accountability is achieved when a faulty principle is identified and changed to produce a more useful action.
I like integrity...I want to surround my self with positive, productive, aware individuals, who have integrity and a core consistant framework of principals that I believe in.
I want everyone I work with, are friends with, and associate with to have some sense of integrity...
When I think of my consistant framework of principals...hmm
-Love, Faith, Patience, Courage, Integrity, Honesty, Kindness, Generousity..I would say that I try to be as consistant with that as possible....
I know that I must surround myself with friends, co-workers, family that profess and practice a consistant framework of principals.
Personal values developed early in life may be resistant to change. They may be derived from those of particular groups or systems, such as culture, religion, and political party. However, personal values are not universal; one's genes, family, nation, generation and historical environment help determine one's personal values.
This is not to say that the value concepts themselves are not universal, merely that each individual possess a unique conception of them i.e. a personal knowledge of the appropriate values for their own genes, feelings and experience.
Respecting Personal values of other persons is dignity of that other person.
Do what you say.
Say what you do.
Say Please and Thank you.
Love
Recognize people.
Give of yourself.

It's the little things.....

When you've got something special, never forget it! That is a chinese proverb, on a bookmark that is in one of the 5 books I am reading. I love little things like bookmarks, and tea cups, and small books that I can put into my purse. What do I have that is special, things (not a word i like so much, things that is) that i never want to forget???? Of course family, my whole family including my extended family in Ohio, that I do not even talk to much, but love just the same. Memories, I think I have special memories...these are "things" that no matter what will never be forgotton. I think the Chinese proverb can pertain to many streams of conscienceness...lets think a bit?? Hmm..Being able to show compassion, and love and understanding, that is special, having a good attitude, in the face of adversity that is special, just qualities on the inside that you can bring to the forefront of your personality, your you, that you can share with the world to make it a better place.
Something special, having health...taking care of you, because there is only one you. Remembering that each and everyperson that you interact with you leave an imprint on. That is special. It's your choice to leave an imprint of lasting good. Brightening someone's day. Smiling at a stranger, making time for your kids when they interupt you for the 900th time...being rewarded for your accomplishments, even if it is just a "hey your doing a great job." I like the "being other than ordinary" definition. Why? Well some would say wow that's weird, which is a negative connotation, better to say, "that's special" I like that better! Don't you?
I would say that I am special, only because I am only one small part of a larger whole which is actually one. We all are special, we all are something special in our lives....Cherish your special...and never forget!
Special is:

I wanna be a ***RoCkStaR***
NICKELBACK LYRICS
"Rockstar"
I'm through with standing in line
To clubs we'll never get in
It's like the bottom of the ninth
And I'm never gonna win
This life hasn't turned out
Quite the way I want it to be
(Tell me what you want)
I want a brand new house
On an episode of Cribs
And a bathroom I can play baseball in
And a king size tub big enough
For ten plus me
(So what you need?)
I'll need a credit card that's got no limit
And a big black jet with a bedroom in it
Gonna join the mile high club
At thirty-seven thousand feet
(Been there, done that)
I want a new tour bus full of old guitars
My own star on Hollywood Boulevard
Somewhere between Cher and
James Dean is fine for me
(So how you gonna do it?)
I'm gonna trade this life for fortune and fame
I'd even cut my hair and change my name
[Chorus:]
'Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars
And live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars
The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap
We'll all stay skinny 'cause we just won't eat
And we'll hang out in the coolest bars
In the VIP with the movie stars
Every good gold digger's
Gonna wind up there
Every Playboy bunny
With her bleach blond hair
Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar
Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar
I wanna be great like Elvis without the tassels
Hire eight body guards that love to beat up assholes
Sign a couple autographs
So I can eat my meals for free
(I'll have the quesadilla, ha, ha)
I'm gonna dress my ass
With the latest fashion
Get a front door key to the Playboy mansion
Gonna date a centerfold that loves to
Blow my money for me
(So how you gonna do it?)
I'm gonna trade this life for fortune and fame
I'd even cut my hair and change my name
[Chorus]
And we'll hide out in the private rooms
With the latest dictionary and today's who's who
They'll get you anything with that evil smile
Everybody's got a drug dealer on speed dial, well
Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar
I'm gonna sing those songs
That offend the censors
Gonna pop my pills from a pez dispenser
I'll get washed-up singers writing all my songs
lip sync 'em every night so I don't get 'em wrong
[Chorus]
And we'll hide out in the private rooms
With the latest dictionary and today's who's who
They'll get you anything with that evil smile
Everybody's got a drug dealer on speed dial

Wow ! Its 08' already!
Hi....it's me...yea I know it has been a while about 6 months to be exact. Mostly everything is the same...going to school yet again, that is fun...learning is fun. I might just go back to nursing school again (love online courses), but to take it further and work with initiatives with nurses, teach them about not only the complexities of human relationships as it pertains to being a caregiver, but understanding themselves as leaders and healers. That sounds good to me. I like that.
Nothing really funny going on today, took my boy to get his cast off his arm, broke it quad riding, as well as his knee, stitches etc. I love having a boy, the best gift. My girls are the greatest too. The big one going to college to be a lawyer, my little one...in grade school. My boy, he's going to be a firefighter. He is a very reactionary personality. The bell rings, he's gone. Loves that!
I saw the funniest video the other day about having a bad day...i am going to post it on here if I can figure it out.
Want to say that i will be more diligent in writing...more than 2 times a year.
What have I learned this past six months in this life?
Time passes. Life happens. Distance separates. Children grow up. Jobs come and go.
Hearts break. People forget favors. Nothing is as it seems. The world is a dream....
BUT.........
Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are Between you. A girl friend is never farther away than needing her can reach. When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by yourself,
the women in your life will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the Valley's end.
Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk Beside you...Or come in and carry you out.
Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters, Daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers, Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended Family, all bless our life!
The world wouldn't be the same without women, and neither would I. When we began this adventure called Womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other.
Everyday, we need each other still.
To all the women who make my life meaningful....thank you for you!!

...and you wonder why?
My very best girlfriend Lori and I went to a seminar yesterday. It was with a guy names Sam Chauhan...something about "Minds Power Unleashed." She asked me if I wanted to go, I really did because I thought if I could just unleash my minds power I could...Ok so what does that really mean? Well...I called her in the morning after I got out of the shower..I was standing there with my skirt and shoes on and dripping wet hair. She answered the phone, and all the while knowing I had just woken her up and drool was still freshly puddled on her pillow. I was like....HELLO we have a seminar today, get your butt up! I blow dryed my hair, put my make up on in the car like a pro, and headed to her house...I honked she came out with her make up in her hands, she flew into the front seat, and as she did...i noticed pillow creases on her arm. She took a quick shower pushing her husband out of the way and she still had pillow creasess on her arm?? How is that possible? Well with great anticipation we went to the seminar. We really liked him, I guess you have to just be in the mood to receive information. We stayed until like 20 minutes after lunch and then left so we could celebrate my daughters 19th birthday. I dropped her off and rushed to the market in my ohh so cute shoes, that were at this time stuffed with toilet paper because of the blisters, (but I looked cute!). Got home just in the knick of time to throw the big slabs of Chuck roast into the oven. Ran upstairs to see my son who is recovering from a Lappy Appy..that's what the doctors called it...an emergency Laproscopic appendectomy. Hmm.. That was fun...do you know what was funner? IS that a word? Well today it is...while I was in the ER with my son...my Rob calls and my little one was playing with her friend and broke her toe. So yes two of my three kids in the ER at the same time...I immeditely called my oldest daughter and told her to stay put, the universe was attacking and she's next on the list...she laughed and she listened. She knows when to listen to me...and when to not! So as I sit here on my computer typing and typing...I still feel so out of sorts...Just a whoorlwind week of hospitals and a birthday. The thing that makes it all possible...my kids! That is it. My childeren consumed all of my time and energy this week..and I thank the lord they are mine! I often wonder what I would do with out my kids...I guess do things for myself, oh my...the very thought of it makes me shudder. I can't stand going to get a massage, or get my nails done..which i do every 3 weeks...I always extend it an extra week. Well the name of this blog is and you wonder why? Why? Well because you do. Why do we do the things we do everyday. Why then do we wonder why? Its just so simple because we as humans are just creatures of habit. We like the status quo. We like to just go with the flow. Secretly...I do too. I want to just wake up and not have to worry about changing the world for the better. Wake up and just lay in bed with the clicker watching Lifetime Movie Network...Cook for my family, play with my kids...talk to my friends. But then...I get that little itch that I want something better for my family...I want to be something...I want to have some sort of initials after my name...funny thing about that..after the seminar yesterday you can sign up to be trained by Sam Chauhan in Neuro Conscious Rapport and subliminal persuasive lingusitics....It is called NRC Practitioner Certification..which only costs course fee of $4000K plus...I for the life of me couldn't figure out what the NRC stood for because it doesn't flow with Neuro Conscious Rapport that would be NCR...anyway..Lori and I figured it stood for "Not Really Conscious." We liked that and laughed hard.

Stacy's Random Thoughts
Today is December 1st 2006 only 30 Days left in the year...as I sit here quietly in my office typing I can't help but reflect on this year. Personally and Professionally it has been the most rewarding for me, but in the same the most challenging. Sometimes, I secretly hope for it to be all over and just begin a new year again. I think about all of the most beautiful things that I hold dear to me, and I realize that the one thing that I love and adore most in this world is my family. That would be my immediate family, my amazing, beautiful children. I realize that really life is just about how or what you leave behind, be it by having children to carry on your legacy, writing a book, working to change poeple and make the world a better place by giving and sharing your thoughts and inspirations with others. People work to live. They just go about their day at their jobs just to live. I want to live to work, not sit behind a computer everyday and type, but share my insights and thoughts with my family and my closest friends that want to receive what I have to give. This world is so small compared to the Universe, and I feel that with each thought that I have and share... it will resonate throghout the world to make a difference. People get so caught up and separate themselves from what they know as life outside their "circles" and they really don't realize that we are all one with the universal energy and not separate.
I love my family my Brothers, my mama and mom and dad. I love my children and my husband. They are a part of me, and I am a part of them. So when I look back at all of my accomplishments, shortcomings, changes that I have gone through this year, I know everything whether good or bad has made me stronger, and made me the person I am at this moment.
I am a shifter. I shift. What does that mean? I have my thoughts and many times my thoughts carry me to another level of understanding. Another level of awakening. This in turn helps me project the energy to carry on my message, my vision. It really doesn't take much for me to be able to start the channeling the ability to manifest what I need in my life. I have this innate ability to bring about what I manifest in life. However, for me, to live is to dream. But, I do have a firm grasp of reality and of what it takes to operate successfully in practical and material terms. I forever want to be a person of substance, someone to be taken seriously and so I am willing to do the work, delay gratification, and build something solid and enduring in this life. I feel I have a capacity for self-discipline and for creating and maintaining stability in my life which to me are gifts that i can fall back on when faced with challenges.
I am inherently inspired conscious and open to experimenting with new forms of imagination and understanding. Through my openness, optimism, enthusiasm for adventure or new ideas, and my willingness to go out on a limb and do something unusual or risky, blessings flow into my life. I feel sometimes a willingness to follow my inspiration, to pay attention to uncanny coincidences and synchronistic events, which again helps me attune to a higher order and magnetize good fortune.
I have been blessed in this life. Through many hardships I have overcome, I am the person I am today, and I am thankful for it. I wouldn't be half the woman I am today If I had not gone through the hardships and suffering of my past life, the life before my awakening. To me...sharing joy, fun, laughter, and playfulness is also one of the ways that I give birth to the new in my life. I feel as if my spiritually is advanced and because of my natural and instinctive generosity of spirit and concern for everybody's well being, I attract blessings and will always be spiritually connected. I feel I can also help organize and coordinate many people's efforts, contributions, and aspirations in order to achieve something great... I know that it takes more than a single individual to achieve something great! I am gifted with the ability to connect my instincts and emotions with my intellect, and many of my talents spring from this, such as the sensitivity and dexterity with which I use my hands, my writing ability, my intuitive understanding of other people, and I have a capacity to both understand and communicate about the inner, subjective, personal, feeling side of life.
In the corridor of my dreams I see the past the present and the future lined as images along the walls, and I reflect with great inspiration on the challenges that I have overcome..and look forward to the many more images that will reflect back at me in the future, and welcome them with an open heart mind and soul....
